But there’s a big change in the laws as well, with new rules for imported food coming into effect in the autumn.

And as more of us get to taste our favourite food on the British mainland, it’s only right to start thinking of what we can do to make our own tasty, healthy Indian food in our own homes.

What is a home-made Indian food?

Home-made food The best home-cooked Indian food is made from ingredients sourced from local or regional markets, such as coconut flour, rice flour, saffron, cumin and cinnamon, according to the Indian Food and Drink Federation (IFDF).

The majority of the Indian food on offer at Indian restaurants and bars is made in the home, from the most basic ingredients like rice flour to the more exotic ones like chutneys and spices.

In a recent report, the IFDF said that India’s food culture is a mix of traditional recipes and the more modern and innovative recipes created by the growing global food trade.

So if you’re in India, you should probably start making your own Indian food at home.

And there are many simple, healthy recipes to try.
