The Philippines will send food, medicines and other products to Iraq to support the fight against the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) militants, the Philippine National Police said on Tuesday.
The Philippine Department of Health and Welfare (DPHW) said the aid package will be sent to the Kurdish region of Iraq, which was hit hard by IS in 2015.
The Philippines and Iraq have been at odds over IS, which controls large swaths of territory in Iraq, Syria and neighboring countries.
In July, the Philippines signed an aid package worth US$10 million to help support the Kurdish forces fighting against IS.
The Philippines is also supplying humanitarian aid to Iraq and Turkey for displaced families.
